BROOKLAND-CAYCE HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION FOUNDATION

TEACHER GRANTS & RECOGNITION
Each Spring, the B-C Foundation awards monetary Grants to teachers so that they may better meet the educational needs of their students in the following academic year. Any teacher who is interested in receiving a Teacher Grant may obtain an application from the Principal's office at the beginning of April. The teacher describes the proposed project and its estimated cost, and returns the application to the Principal's office. The Foundation Board of Directors then reviews the applications and awards the Teacher Grants based on merit and available funds.

Through these Grants, teachers are able to purchase additional items for their classroom projects that otherwise would not be available. The Teacher Grants provide an extra source of financial assistance so that teachers and students have all of the tools necessary to succeed in the classroom.

Each May, the Foundation recognizes the BCHS Teacher of the Year with a cash award. The Teacher of the Year is chosen by popular vote of all BCHS teachers. The 2010 recipient is Ms. MarySusan Williamson.

The Foundation also provides a Teacher Recognition Breakfast each August in the BCHS cafeteria, to honor and express our appreciation to all faculty members as they embark on a new school year.
